I was beyond excited when my best friend of 15 years, Katie, got engaged on Christmas Eve of 2014. But, when she asked us to make flannel getting-ready robes for her bridal party, I admit, I was EVEN MORE excited! This was an honor to be entrusted with her wedding party robes but also new territory for ChezBlanc as we had only just adventured into seersucker from our all-satin line of robes.
Katie and Ryan were married on Halloween day 2015 at Tryon Palace in New Bern, NC. They could not have wished for better weather for their outdoor ceremony. We had our hair and makeup done at the most adorable salon in New Bern - Magnolia Jane. The ceremony was in the gardens of Tryon Palace and the reception was at the North Carolina History Museum. To say this was a beautiful and fun wedding is a serious understatement. When there's a band and a dance floor, this wedding party (and their spouses) become performers. (Especially when you mix in halloween costumes, fake teeth, candy, champagne, and an awesome band) At one point, Michael and I may have tried to perform the finale in Dirty Dancing.
Needless to say my first "post-partum event" after having Camille 5 weeks prior was absolutely incredible, and afterwards I felt ready to re-enter the real world of pants without elastic and regular showers.
Anyways, we were so happy with how the robes turned out that we now offer a line of cozy flannel robes for your bridal party! And, we are grateful to Katie for the inspiration.
