Okay, where was I? It's the Friday night before our big moment at Charleston Bridal Fashion Week and I'm whining on the couch about my cricked neck and listing things for Michael to pull out of the garage and pack in the car for me. My very kind husband packed up the car and all I had to do was get better...or at least mobile enough for Saturday.
Saturday I'm on a good dose of Aleve and feeling energized, excited and full of coffee! We arrive at Marion Square to unload the car at Tobacco Road. Plan is- unpack, park the car at the Francis Marion Hotel, set up shop and kill it!
We drag everything into the runway tent and start setting up the shop. The place is alive and all the vendors are setting up and people are running around and I'm starting to get a little tense like...everyone is moving really fast so I better move really fast too.
So I'm putting together the hanging rack and realize I only have one of the two required metal poles to hold the thing up. No wait, I have two poles but they are for two different hanging racks. Oh FFFFFudge. I mean, there are 30 robes that need to HANG. The hanging rack is the most important part of the booth. It's the focal point, highlight, the reason we're there. I run to the car and double check - nope, not in there. Oh God, panicking, hold it together, call Michael. Michael swears it's not in the garage, I SWEAR it is. We go back and forth until Michael points out how unproductive this is. Point is: I should have checked that morning. Buuuuut I didn't.
I pull myself together and calmly ask Michael to bring me the hanging rack at my mom's house. Just kidding, let's be honest there wasn't anything calm about me.
Michael puts Camille in the car and races over to my mom's house to pick up another hanging rack. My issue is that it's smaller though, and just wasn't part of my plaaaaannnn. @%(*#&*$&
Next, I'm thinking I'll park the car at the Francis Marion while I'm waiting for Michael. Never mind, the lot is full. And, so is that lot. And, that lot. Annnnnd, that lot. Cool, I park a mile away and didn't plan on breaking a SWEAT running the mile back to the runway tent. I don't do cardio on the regular.
I get back to the tent huffing and puffing and to my great surprise the staff at CFW had an extra hanging rack! I promise, the skies literally opened up and angels sang. Now, we have TWO racks!!!
The rest of the show was a breeze. We met a lot of excited brides and gave away a ton of business cards. The runway bridal shows were beautiful and the entertainment was like Dancing With The Stars quality. We had a great time! Our ChezBlanc models deserve a shout out - they were both so pretty and such pros!!
The minute I got home I marched to the garage to pull out that missing piece to the hanging rack and prove that I was right. It's no where to be found even though I very clearly remember putting it in there. If you find my missing metal pole for the hanging rack please let me know.
